Chingford is a historic area, with a vibrant, friendly local community. It’s famous for the Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge, a great place to visit for kids and adults alike, with beautiful views, as well as fascinating history.

If the great outdoors gets your heart pumping, Epping Forest is just on your doorstep. This ancient woodland is full of beautiful plants and wildlife, so no two visits are the same. Bird enthusiasts should explore the King George V and William Girling Reservoirs. Designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest these are fantastic places to appreciate nature.

Organ concerts in Chingford’s parish church are a great way to meet others in your local community. While the local scout group is long established and welcomes many children every year. And Chingford’s annual May Day Fayre is a fun day for the whole family and community.

Meet Ruth, our Chingford Network Manager...

Originally from rural Northern Florida, I have lived in London for 11 years and moved to Walthamstow in 2012. I Previously worked as a political organiser and volunteer coordinator before moving to the UK, where I became a lecturer in Sociology before taking a role as Volunteer Coordinator at The Mill in Coppermill Lane. I love Chingford for its green spaces. I am looking to formulate and realise a radical vision for the Chingford area, one that is inclusive, long-lasting and impactful. I am eager to bring together organisations, volunteers, residents and council services to improve the lives of the people who live, work and play in our three northern most villages.

Get involved
